Immigration Officer

Role :

Under the supervision of the HR Generalist, the Immigration Officer is responsible for coordinating all procedures related to the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of foreign workers. He or she ensures compliance with immigration processes (LMIA, work permits, PNP, IRCC/INB portals), provides personalized support to new international employees, and facilitates their social and professional integration within the company. This role is crucial to the organization's smooth operation in a context of growth and a shortage of specialized labor.


Main Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate immigration procedures for temporary and permanent foreign workers (LMIA, work permits, PNP, AIP, IRCC/INB portals).
  • Monitor immigration status, deadlines, and permit renewals.
  • Support new employees in their administrative and settlement processes (SIN, housing, healthcare, transportation, etc.).
  • Organize and structure their social and professional integration in collaboration with internal teams and community partners.
  • Ensure the company’s regulatory compliance with immigration authorities (IRCC, ESDC, GNB).
  • Promote inclusion, diversity, and intercultural awareness within the organization.
  • Develop tools for monitoring, communication, and support to ensure the well-being and retention of immigrant workers.
  • Write and create essential documents for employees to support the smooth progress of hiring and retention processes.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Generalist and internal communications as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Law, Administration, or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in immigration management within an HR or industrial context is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of federal and provincial programs (TFWP, PNP, AIP) and familiarity with IRCC and INB portals is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural competencies
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required
  • Occasional travel (airport, Service Canada, housing assistance)


Employment Conditions

  • Workplace: Atelier Gérard Beaulieu, Saint-Quentin, NB
  • Status: Full-time, term position (up to 40 hours per week), available immediately
  • Salary: Starting at $60,000 annually, based on experience
  • Benefits: 50% employer-paid after 3 months
