POSITION SUMMARY
The Welder is responsible for assembling metal parts using various welding processes, in accordance with drawings and applicable standards. He or she contributes to the manufacturing of high-quality products for the North American market and ensures the strength, precision, quality, and safety of assemblies.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical instructions
- Ensure the correct materials and tools are available for the job
- Ensure proper job tracking (clocking in on the correct job)
Welding & Assembly
- Perform welds according to technical specifications (weld size standards)
- Set up and operate welding equipment
- Assemble and tack plates; verify positions and dimensions before final welding
- Work in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead)
Quality Control & Finishing
- Inspect weld quality (visual and dimensional) according to drawings
- Correct defects (touch-ups, rework)
- Perform finishing work (grinding, polishing)
- Follow qualified welding procedures
- Complete required documentation (“BAPTISTÈRE” and others as needed)
Safety & Maintenance
- Strictly follow safety procedures
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain and clean workstations and tools
- Report any issues or technical problems to the supervisor
PROFILE & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required
- Welding training is an asset
- CWB certification is an asset
- Knowledge of metal fabrication and welding processes
- Comfortable using measuring tape and working with precise measurements
- Strong teamwork skills
- Preferred language: French. Bilingualism is an asset.
- Positive, resourceful, punctual, and collaborative attitude
- Ability to work independently, in an organized and detail-oriented manner, and as part of a team
- Must reside in Canada and be legally authorized to work
