Job OFFER : Shipping Yard Operator

ABOUT THE POSITION (What we are looking for)
The Shipping Yard Attendant provides support for the management, organization, and coordination of finished and semi-finished product shipments. The successful candidate ensures that products leave the plant undamaged, complete with all required components, compliant with specifications, and shipped under safe conditions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (What we expect)
Shipping Operations
Prepare finished products for shipment according to orders and established priorities.
Verify quantities, product references, and product condition before loading.
Participate in truck loading operations while following established procedures.
Coordinate loading activities with truck drivers and transportation carriers.
Shipping Yard Organization
Place products in designated shipping yard areas.
Maintain loading and temporary storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
Contribute to the safe and efficient movement of trucks and forklifts within the yard.
Coordination with Production
Communicate with the production, quality control, and warehouse teams.
Ensure products have been released by Quality Control before shipment.
Report any issues or situations that may cause shipping delays.
Documentation and Traceability
Prepare and verify shipping documents (delivery slips, bills of lading, labels, etc.).
Ensure traceability of lots, serial numbers, and pallets.
Take photographs during loading operations and of items shipped separately (crates).
Safe Equipment Operation
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and dock equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure loading equipment is inspected before use.
Respect load limits and safe lifting practices.
Report any equipment defects and immediately remove non-compliant equipment from service.
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
PROFILE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (What will make you successful in this role)
Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a forklift (certification is considered an asset).
Ability to work in an organized, independent, and detail-oriented manner.
Positive, resourceful, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Ability to communicate in both French and English, primarily verbally, to interact with carriers, customers, and team members.
