POSITION SUMMARY

A Program Quality Assurance (PQA) Representative is a specialized professional responsible for ensuring that all products, materials, and services purchased from external suppliers meet a company's strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Unlike general Quality Assurance, which often focuses on internal production, a PQA Representative specifically manages the quality of the supply chain on the assigned programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and analyze procurement documentation (purchase orders, engineering requests, technical specifications) to ensure quality requirements are properly integrated and communicated.
  • Perform source inspection by visiting supplier warehouses and production lines to observe critical inspections, testing activities, and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage non-conformities by identifying deviations, coordinating corrective actions with suppliers, and escalating major issues to management.
  • Verify shipment documentation compliance by ensuring required Certificates of Conformance (C of C), test reports, and full traceability documentation are in place.

PROFILE & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is generally required.
  • Experience: Typically 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, aerospace, nuclear, or specialized quality assurance.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of international quality standards such as ISO 9001, as well as AGB codes / industry-specific standards such as CSA, UL, and DOT (considered an asset).
  • Certifications: Credentials such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are highly valued.
  • Bilingualism: A strong asset (English and French, both written and spoken).
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and strong diplomatic skills: Considered an important asset.
  • Candidates must reside in Canada and be legally authorized to work in Canada.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office-based position with frequent presence required at supplier facilities and AGB workshops.
  • Standard 40-hour work week, with flexibility required based on operational needs.
  • Travel may be required for client visits, supplier visits, or program meetings.
