Work Location: 164 Mgr Martin East, St-Quentin, New Brunswick

Employment Status: Permanent, full-time position

Work Schedule: 44 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional work outside regular working hours may be required in the event of urgent repairs.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

POSITION OVERVIEW

AGB is looking for an Electrician or Apprentice Electrician to join our maintenance team.

The successful candidate will participate in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the various electrical systems and equipment used throughout our production facilities.

We also welcome applications from apprentice electricians who need to complete their required practical work hours in order to continue or complete their apprenticeship program. The level of responsibility and independence will be adapted according to the successful candidate’s experience, training, and apprenticeship level.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance and Repairs

• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and components;

• Diagnose electrical problems and malfunctions;

• Perform repairs and replace defective components;

• Assist with troubleshooting production equipment to minimize downtime;

• Verify the proper operation of installations and equipment following repairs or maintenance.

Electrical Installation

• Participate in the installation, connection, and commissioning of new equipment;

• Install or modify electrical circuits, wiring, panels, and components;

• Read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and diagrams;

• Perform the necessary electrical connections when installing or relocating equipment;

• Participate in projects involving improvements or modifications to the company’s electrical installations.

Troubleshooting and Production Support

• Identify the causes of electrical failures on production equipment;

• Use appropriate tools and measuring instruments to perform diagnostics;

• Collaborate with the maintenance team and production supervisors to efficiently resolve problems;

• Participate in scheduled maintenance work and urgent interventions when required.

Health and Safety

• Perform all work in accordance with applicable health and safety standards and procedures;

• Follow lockout/tagout and energy control procedures;

• Keep tools and work areas clean, safe, and organized;

• Report any situation that may pose a risk to employee safety or equipment.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed electrical training or is currently enrolled in a recognized apprenticeship program;

• Is a qualified electrician or an apprentice electrician looking to accumulate the practical work hours required for their apprenticeship;

• Has strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;

• Is able to read and understand electrical plans and schematics;

• Is comfortable performing hands-on work in an industrial environment;

• Is independent, responsible, and committed to quality workmanship;

• Has strong teamwork and communication skills;

• Places a high priority on workplace health and safety.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is considered a strong asset.

Compensation: Starting wage of $24.03 per hour. The starting wage will be evaluated based on the selected candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and level of training.
