POSITION SUMMARY

The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled construction work, including framing, assembly, installation, and finishing tasks. The role contributes to the efficient, safe, and high-quality completion of projects in collaboration with the construction team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with site preparation: setup, installation, and cleanup of work areas
  • Perform general construction work (framing, formwork, assembly, light demolition, basic finishing, etc.)
  • Read and interpret basic plans and follow instructions from the foreman or project manager
  • Assist with handling, loading, and transporting materials and equipment (including safe operation of a forklift or other machinery, if certified)
  • Properly use manual and power tools (drill, saw, hammer, level, measuring tape, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) standards at all times
  • Identify potential risks on-site and adopt safe work practices
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces
  • Collaborate effectively with team members
  • Perform any other related duties as required

REQUIRED PROFILE & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in the construction field
  • Vocational diploma (DEP or equivalent) in construction, carpentry, or a related field (asset)
  • Good knowledge of tools and basic construction techniques
  • Ability to read basic plans (important asset)
  • Good physical condition (manual labor, lifting, outdoor work)
  • Autonomous, resourceful, and responsible
  • Proactive attitude with strong attention to quality work
  • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Bilingualism (asset)
  • Must reside in Canada and be legally authorized to work

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Schedule:
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Salary: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills
