POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accounting Technician is responsible for the daily management of accounts payable and receivable, as well as providing support to financial operations. The role includes performing accounting entries and reconciliations, preparing management reports, participating in audits, and contributing to the improvement of internal practices.

The position also includes administrative management of housing units and real estate contracts, including lease tracking, payments, and insurance follow-ups.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Accounting

  • Perform routine accounting entries.
  • Maintain up-to-date records, Excel files, tracking tools, and internal procedures.
  • Ensure proper document archiving in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable (billing, adjustments, etc.).
  • Collaborate on internal audits and respond to requests from the external accountant.
  • Prepare various financial reports at the request of management.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting and administrative processes.

Housing & Contract Administration

  • Manage rental and maintenance contracts related to apartments.
  • Monitor payments, insurance policies, and lease agreements.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Housing Coordinator to ensure proper management and logistics.

PROFILE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (What we are looking for)

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting.
  • Ability to work in an organized, autonomous, and rigorous manner, and as part of a team.
  • Positive, resourceful, collaborative, and caring attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must reside in Canada and be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Bilingual (French/English) required.
